Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable Seasonal STEM/Drone Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in STEM education with a focus on drone technology and a deep understanding of FAA Part 107 regulations. This position requires someone who is passionate about teaching and engaging learners from youth to adults in both theoretical and practical aspects of drone technology. This position will provide and oversee STEM and drone training events over the summer at our new educational facility. This position has the potential to become full time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging STEM curriculum with a focus on drone technology, ensuring alignment with educational standards and FAA Part 107 regulations.
- Conduct hands-on drone workshops and training sessions for students of various age groups, from youth to adults.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in drone technology and FAA regulations to incorporate them into the curriculum.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to create interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
- Ensure a safe learning environment by strictly adhering to safety protocols and FAA regulations during all drone operations.
- Assist in organizing and participating in drone-related events and competitions.
Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in Education, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
- Proven experience in teaching STEM subjects, with a preference for candidates with experience in drone education.
- Familiarity with educational software, such as Teachable, for creating and delivering online content.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse range of students.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability to work during the seasonal period and flexibility to adjust to varying schedules.
- Experience working with Teachable education platforms
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
- Knowledge of additional software tools and technologies used in drone operations and data analysis.
- Previous experience in organizing and managing educational events or competitions.
